April 10, 2023 Hi, There are very few things that are more memorable than when someone makes a mistake… Wouldn’t you agree? When you’re sitting around talking to friends or family, nothing gets their attention more than when you pronounce a word wrong, or say something that isn’t factual… or say something that they disagree with (luckily, that last one is not what this is about today!) If you know a person who consistently spells or says a word improperly, I’m sure you notice it every time. Today’s marketing idea is going to capitalize on that idea! It has been said in the past that even if someone is talking bad about you, they’re still talking about you, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. While I wouldn’t go as far as to say that you should produce bad publicity, there is an element of truth in there: If you want to gain engagement and attention from your audience, you have to do something surprising. Today, I want you to purposely make a mistake in a social media post, email, or ad… or all 3! Take a look at this example: In case you’re wondering, yes, I purposely made that mistake. And guess what… that one ad generated a massive amount of engagement! Or this other mistake I found… Credit: Bookbub.com I imagine this also brought a lot of attention to their new car! So today, find a funny and creative way to make a mistake! I find grammar mistakes to be the least controversial, especially if you use it in a way that’s ironic (like my example), but there are many ways you can go with this!
