Episode 3-37: My Promises To You

Hi, what’s going on podcast family? Alex here. I got to tell you this week has been nuts. There’s been a lot of stuff happening in the deep, dark trenches of the internet marketing world and I want to share what I learned from it. The first thing is that there are a lot of ways to attract people using promises that you simply cannot deliver on but that speak to our most based desires as entrepreneurs, which is making money quickly and easily. What I’m talking about, there was a specific marketing system where they were using click funnels and promoting it as simply a business opportunity to get a whole bunch of affiliates under you. The way that they were building it, they were making a lot of promises that were never going to come true and there was just a lot of things within that process that weren’t ethical, without getting into the details of it.

I thought about that. As the dust settled I thought, man, what does this mean? You know, I looked at it. It’s a small percentage of people that are doing internet marketing. I think there was a couple hundred people that were involved in this method and they were trying it for themselves and so it was one of those things where it was like a rinse and repeat kind of marketing method, right? It’s like they would copy this and they would try to build it for themselves and at the end of the day, it was just they were trying to go for the quick buck and if you’re going to build a strong, legitimate business, you got to build something that is sustainable.

I started thinking to myself, and it all started this whole, the negative thing started with one influencer who created a system and I thought as for myself, as an influencer in this space, what can I do differently so that the people that are in my world don’t get caught up in something like this? I wrote down some promises that I wanted to make to you, to you as my audience, to you as the people that are listening to me and giving me a little bit of time every single week, to help you.

Here’s my promises to you. Number one, I’m not going to promote something to you that I do not currently believe in and that I do not think is possible for you. In other words, I’m not going to tell you, “Do X and I believe that you will get Y,” if I don’t think that that’s actually possible for you. One of the biggest mistakes that other people make in internet marketing, not just this latest incident but they promote products or results that simply are not possible for the average person who is just getting started to actually produce. What that does is that creates a number one, it creates a false sense of optimism for the person going though it. Number two, at the end of the day, it gets them burned out.

I really believe in internet marketing. I believe in affiliate marketing. I believe in finding great leads for your business, whatever it is online. I believe that all of this is possible however, if I or anybody else starts to telling you that there are easy results or that things are rinse and repeat that are not actually going to work, the problem is, is that you get burned out. You get hurt. You feel like you got lied to. I’m not going to do that to you.

My second promise is that I’m not going to share anything that has a backdoor for me being able to grow my business off of your hard work and effort. That was another thing that happened with, it happens a lot in the internet marketing space where there’s a lot of these get rich quick schemes, is that the creator of it kind of plugs things into the websites that they share so that they’re able to grow off of the business as well by either growing their Facebook Pixel audience by attaching their Pixel somewhere in there, or some other ways. It’s something that you really don’t need to worry about so to speak, but some people do it. I don’t, so that’s my promise to you.

My third promise is that I’m only going to encourage your to follow marketing practices that are ethical above word and that I believe will produce results. I’m all about experimenting, but I like to experiment with my stuff first before I start telling you about it. Then once an experiment has worked, then I’m able to go on here and tell you what I did that worked really well. There are things that I do that don’t work, right? I’m not going to have you try the same thing if it doesn’t work for me.

My fourth promise is that if I see a trend that I believe is not going to serve you, I’ll let you know. I’m not police, I’m not trying to look over everybody’s shoulder, I don’t have time for that. I’m building my own business, but with the SAM method, the method that got brought to me, I had people reaching out to me going, “I’m trying this, it’s not working. What do you recommend?” At first it just was like, “I don’t know if that funnel’s something I would do.” Then the more I looked into it because people kept coming to me, I was like, oh, this is bad. I had to speak up. I decided to say something about it because it was starting to take off and I just didn’t see a positive trend. The more people jumped on it, I didn’t think it was going to help serve them or the general community. I’ll let you know. If I see something that is really taking off that I don’t think is good for you, I will let you know.

My fifth promise to you is that as your business grows and you see more success, I’m going to celebrate you, because I want you to be successful. I have a mindset of abundance. I believe there’s more than enough for you, there’s more than enough for me, there’s more than enough for everyone in the community, for all of us to serve together, grow together, and achieve massive success.

My next promise is that if you get stuck, I’m going to do what I can to help you. I want to see you succeed. I want to see you grow. I want to see you reach the next level of your business, whatever you want out of your business, that’s what I want to help you with.

My last promise to you is that I’m going to continue to share what I know and show you how to do it. I want my ceiling to be your floor. I want you to be able to grow so much more than what I’ve been able to do because I’m sharing everything that I’ve done and you’re able to take it to the next level. Those are my promises to you as your internet marketing coach that you’re listening to, as the guy that you let onto your podcast on a weekly basis. I’m here for you. I want to see you succeed. I want to see you grow. I want to see you take things to the next level. I’ll let you know when I see something that I think may not be able, maybe not be serving you, and I want you to help continue to help me. I think we’re all in this together. We can all grow, we can all have fun, we can all be successful.
